I’m a big fan of beef but it can be expensive. So, I usually look for sales and then figure out how to use that meat to make a delicious meal. Recently there was a great sale on London Broil. It is a great piece of meat for grilling and it works well with marinade. I knew I wasn’t going to have much time for cooking this week so I decided to cut it into slices before putting it into the marinade and then skewering each piece. Besides cutting the cook time, this also made each slice have a lot more flavor and nice charring.
Marinade Ingredients
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1/3 cup balsamic
- 3 tbsp Worcester sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 cup dry vermouth or white whine
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/4 cup dried basil
- 2 tbsp oregano
- 2 tbsp thyme
- 2 tbsp smoke salt
Instructions
Slice a 4# London Broil across the grain (key point here) and add to a large ziploc bag.
Combing all marinade ingredients in a separate bowl and mix.
Add marinade to ziploc bag containing meat.
Let marinate overnight.
After done marinating, skewer each strip. If using a wood skewer, soak each skewer for a few minutes before using.
Grill for 1-4 minutes per side (time depends on thickness of strips as well as desired doneness).
Eat!
